This service manual has been prepared by the Service Department of the Cadillac Motor Car Division to aid in servicing 1982 model Cadillac automobiles. It includes complete information on service procedures and specifications specific to 1982 Cadillac cars except body service information which is covered in the body service manual (NOT Included).

It appears Cadillac went about this in a rather convoluted way. You are getting the 1982 Cadillac Service Information Manual and the 1982 Cadillac Electrical Information and Diagnosis Manual in this two-volume set.

When looking at the Table of Contents in the Service Information Manual the items denoted with an asterisk (*) are actually found in the Electrical Information and Diagnosis Manual. The Electrical Information and Diagnosis Manual shows the same table of contents, thus the items with an asterisk in that one is what is contained in that manual.

Another way of looking at it, you are getting all of the information shown in the Table of Contents, it is just split between the two manuals. (Thanks Cadillac for making that so straightforward).
