The Role of the Automobile.
The automobile is and remains the only mode of transportation which allows its driver the decision of when, where and with whom he wishes to travel.
Individual mass motorization has, indeed, created problems: traffic safety, burden on the environment and high density traffic in metropolitan areas. 
In the public interest Mercedes-Benz has not only declared its willingness to work on the solution to these problems, but has already developed a number of practical safety measures.
