Description

1969 VW Volkswagen Beetle Factory Original Service Shop Repair Manual - Brakes, Wheels, Tires, Hand and Foot Controls. Original.

Service manuals can be valuable tools when working on and/or restoring a vehicle. For the uninitiated, keep in mind that these manuals were never meant as restoration manuals, as that is not within the regular scope of work done by dealership service departments (even today).

In this workshop manual, the various parts of the brake system of a particular model or model version are described. Parts of the brake system of other VW models or model version that work in principle in the same manner can deviate in shape or in size from the example shown here.

All the vehicles described in this workshop manual have hydraulically operated foot brakes and a mechanical hand brake acting on the rear wheels. The foot brake is on the single-circuit or dual-circuit type drum type or a combination of disc and drum brakes depending on the vehicle version. On Type 1 vehicles, the front wheel drum brakes are of the simplex type and on Type 2 vehicles, the duplex type.

On all vehicles the rear wheel brakes are of the simplex type.

Condition: Service Manuals are used in Dealership Shops, Independent Garages and in Fleet Environments and thus can reflect such use, most often showing extensive signs of soiling, age, and wear. The information within is still legible and can give valuable insight. The images shown are representative of what is shipped. In this case the manual has also been subjected to moisture, leaving water/mildew stains, rippled pages, rusty binder rings, etc. See pics.
