To Our Stockholders:

This message deals with the operating results of the Corporation for the second quarter and for the first six months of the year, both from the financial and the statistical standpoints. First, dealing with the war production program in detail, it may be pointed out in summary. that the Corporation's contributions to the war effort is steadily being intensified. It is not generally recognized that at the time of Peral Harbor General Motors plants were already delivery nearly two million dollars' worth of war materials each day. In the seven months since the declaration of war, the rate of five million dollars a day was reached. With the support of additional capacity coming into production during the second half of the year, and the developing efficiency of existing capacity, further substantial increases in General Motors war production totals may be expected.
